Maseno University students were on Wednesday afternoon graced by former google boss Joe Mucheru over a technology empowerment talk at the millennium complex hall in Maseno.
The Cabinet Secretary Ministry of ICT informed the students on the current initiatives that the government has put in place which include studio mashinani situated in Kisumu and Ajira platform that consists of online jobs.
Mucheru also talked of the training programs that the government has initiated of linking youths in the ICT industry with mentors who have passed through the same road.
"We can quickly become a developed country with the help of our youths, considering approximately 2 billion people in the world are on the internet and the larger percentage consists of the youths," he said.
Among those present were PS telecommunications, Sammy Itemere, PS Arts and culture Joe Okudo, Director events at state house Big Ted and Director administration ICT Henry Mungasia.
