Devolution is a blessing to the people of restive north but senators are jeopardizing the operations of the county governance. Forget about the salvos and public spat by senators on the incumbent governors. It’s an indiscriminate attempt to besmirch the good work done the governors. Ok, am not arguing that all county chiefs are hunky dory but the exemplary work they have done is worth applause.

From where I sit, senators do not believe there is enough praise to go around for all. And true to their psychopathic behavior, they hate to see another person do any good for the hoi polloi. This is because their deceitful life is ruled by fear. After decades of marginalization by the previous regimes, the people of the restive north have something big to smile about. For example, the good people of Wajir can ride on a tarmac road.

Devolution had far reaching impacts on health, water, agriculture and infrastructure. The county’s first head is now seen as the cradle of hope and stands a beacon to emulate. However, with all the tangible development seen around, our men and women in the August house are depicting our hardworking governors in bad light in self-pretense of playing ‘oversight’ role.

From point of logic, senators want the governors to play the game of reciprocity to the ‘master’ in our case the senators. But the crux of the matter is that this men pack up under the burden of dishonesty, hypocrisy and of multiple standards. If anything, who audits them? Whatever the governors other sins may be, the naked truth is that the senators are not honest, fair or trustworthy.

My pen will not be fair to the vocal Mandera senator, Billow Kerrow. In the minds of fellow Kenyans, Kerrow is an adamant advocate of the electorates but to as in the north, Kerrow is one man who is buried under the debris of tribalism and proceeds of impunity. He is Better yet sandwiched between high scale hypocrisy and confusions. Mandera north constituency turned to be a human abattoir under his watch and his madness is slowly denigrating to Mandera east constituency of Mandera County after he excited clan tensions over simple ruling on IEBC ward delimitation petition. Eyebrow should be raised when the hyena suddenly morphs into the biggest defender of the goat purporting to safeguard if from the leopard’s attack. This ugly exercise is something that cuts across all the 47 elected senators. From coast’s Hassan Omar to Meru’s kiraitu Murungi. Wajir’s Olow is not left out also. He is exceptionally scoring high by jeopardizing county operations in his home turf. The genesis of this brouhaha is a good case study of sour grapes or a deal gone sour. Senators with all their wisdom or lack of it thought to be in control of the county coffers and thus able to extort money from the county chiefs through intimation and bribery. But all the unbridled attempts have fallen flat on their faces. This is the elephant in the room that nobody wants to address. The sin of a political deceit should be called by its name. Societies that cannot stare the truth in the eye and call it by its name will perish. Therefore cacophony passionate please from the senators should be condemned to the rooftops
