Link road will make economy grow faster

Kenya National Highways Authority has placed a notice in the local Dailies on the construction of Garsen-Witu-Lamu Road.

KenHA finalised design reviews for construction purposes and even pre-qualified contractors on the same but there was no financial commitment for the construction works.

With the advertisement for works and subsequent pledging by the President, it is settling to finally know funds have been set aside for the project, which is a very important link with the lapsset project.

It is important to acknowledge that this road is also a major link for providing material supply during the construction stage, as well as evacuation of cargo when construction of the first three berths is completed.

KenHA is constructing this road, which is part of the Lapsset project, and will link Kenya with South Sudan and Ethiopia. This Project will make the country's economy grow faster.

This project will also help the region create jobs in the infrastructure industry. The project will help strengthen our socio-economic base by improving infrastructure. The project will open up the pastoral regions particularly in the north of Kenya that will now be the next growth frontier for the entire economy.
