Police in Moyale have transferred a suspected Al Shabaab militant arrested on Wednesday to Nyeri.
Alex Kimaru, 21, was being sought by Nyeri police. Five of his colleagues are still at large.
Moyale OCPD Thomas Atuti said the suspect will be interrogated over claims of having links with the militia group. He said the suspect was arrested in Moyale on Wednesday morning following a tip off by the public.
The suspect and his colleagues have been on police watch for days. "We were informed that he had left Nyeri after joining Al Shabaab and was on his way to Somalia," said Mr Atuti.
Mr Kimaru, however, maintained that he was in Moyale for business and that he was alone.
