An ambitious long-term plan to empower young girls in the city, has been launched.
The platform dubbed GOAL Programme was unveiled at Shauri Moyo Grounds with over 150 selected representatives from girls schools in Nairobi gracing the ground breaking event.
According to the programme's brain child, Mrs Susan Mboya- Kidero, wife of Governor Dr Evans Kidero, the move is aimed at empowering and equipping adolescent girls with the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to be integral economic leaders in their families, communities and societies.
"The girl child deserves to be nurtured and not left alone to find her way up society's ladder. Skills should be horned early enough, "Mrs Kidero said.
