Tomorrow marks Kenya’s 52nd Madaraka day celebrations, a day that is commemorated to mark the attainment of our nation’s independence.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is scheduled to lead the official ceremony at the Nyayo National Stadium, gates will be opened from 6.00 a.m. and all guest are expected to be sited by 8.00a.m.
Addressing the press, EBS regional coordinator Njoroge Ndirangu assured Kenyans that security has been beefed up ahead of the event as security personnel have been deployed.
“As we celebrate Madaraka day tomorrow, I want to assure you that security measures have been put in place and adequate personnel to ensure that the public enjoy all the celebrations in a safe and secure environment,” says Ndirangu
According to Ndirangu, hawkers will not be allowed inside the stadium but can only hawk before and after the celebrations.

Ndirangu urged Kenyans to join in celebrating this historic day saying that exciting events are lined up for entertainment.
“I am delighted to inform you that the national celebrations steering committee has organized a wide variety of entertainment such as acrobatic fused performed by sarakasi dancers, mass choir performance by Kabarak University and performances by popular artists Jaguar, Solomon Mukabwa among others,” he added.
After the celebrations there will be sporting activities in various stadiums within Nairobi including martial arts, skating and football.
This day is dedicated to the freedom fighters and our patriotic valiant forefathers who fought for and selflessly sacrificed their lives for our nation’s internal self-rule from the colonial masters, the British, in 1963.
