Mau Narok, Kenya: Grief has gripped Bondeni slum in Mau Narok in Nakuru County, after two people were run over by a lorry in Likia area.
Riot police officers, called to disperse irate residents who blocked the road demanding to be addressed by area Deputy Commissioner, shot and injured two demonstrators, further worsening the situation.
Njoro Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Noor, who arrived moments later, identified the deceased as a pupil at Mwangaza Academy and another man. The police shot and injured Evans Kabugi, 21 and Isaac Kinyanjui, 45.
The DC said the lorry that was headed to Mau Narok from Nakuru when it hit the two who were crossing the road.
