NAKURU, KENYA: Two members of parliament from Nakuru County have called on Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to reign in on some senior officers misusing resources allocated to them.
Nakuru town west MP Samuel Arama and his Bahati counterpart Kimani Ngunjiri claimed that some County ministers, Chief Officers and directors were misusing vehicles assigned to them.
“Some senior officers must exercise prudent management of resources allocated to them to minimise wastage. They have been going to night clubs using county vehicles. This is not acceptable,” said Mr Arama.
He said as elected leaders he has received complaints from junior staff at the county and residents over rampant misuse of county resources by senior officers.
Mr Arama claimed some of the officers’ travel to their rural homes using county vehicles.

The legislator said the presence of county vehicles outside night clubs late at night was disturbing to tax payers who feel that the officers are using county resources to run personal errands.
“Some even use government vehicles for weddings and to attend private parties in their rural homes. This is unacceptable we need to manage resources well,” he said.
