Nyeri , Kenya: A man has been jailed for five years without an option of a fine after a Nyeri court found him guilty of possessing 51 rolls of bhang, valued at Sh1,020.
James Githenya appeared before Resident Magistrate John Aringo, charged with being in possession of the narcotics on February 28, 2014, at Majengo village in Ruringu, Nyeri County.
He denied the charges, saying the bhang was placed in his house by the police officers who arrested him that day.
The magistrate dismissed the accused's defence that he was framed, saying that the testimonies of both witnesses were consistent.
