KAJIADO, KENYA: Kajiado county leaders have asked members of parliament to stop attacking the interior cabinet secretary but instead unite to fight the insecurity upsurge in the country.

Speaking on Monday to The Standard, Kajiado West MP Moses Ole Sakuda said it was wrong to point accusing fingers to the cabinet secretary.

"Leaders must work together rather than think that it is Ole Lenku who is the problem we are all in the problem and must therefore find necessary solutions to fight insecurity," said Kajiado West MP.

On Sunday Kajiado Central Member of Parliament Joseph Nkaissery who was accompanied by Joseph Ole Lenku in a church fundraiser at Olesoit in Kajiado said that the Interior cabinet secretary is not to blame for the upsurge of crime in the country but should be given time to fight insecurity.

The legislature who is affiliated to the CORD coalition asked the members of parliament to stop seeking to censor Joseph Ole Lenku but instead unite to overcome crime in the country.

"When we start fighting an individual who is doing his job correctly we are actually missing it, people think I am fighting Ole Lenku but that is not true. Leaders must come together to fight insecurity in the country," said Nkaissery.

In the function Ole Lenku said that he was equal to the task and believed that his ministry was doing all it could to overcome the insecurity in the country.

"There is need that we come together as leaders and as Kenyans to fight insecurity," said Ole Lenku.

Kajiado county senator Engineer Peter Mositet said that the move by the president to pull together Kenya Wildlife Service, General Service units and other security organs under the inspector general was timely and could boost security across the country.
