Nairobi, Kenya: A bodyguard attached to Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti was on Wednesday night attacked and robbed of his gun, which as loaded with 14 bullets at a wines and spirit joint in Ngara, Nairobi.
Police said the victim had walked into the joint and joined his colleagues when gunmen confronted him and grabbed his gun.
Police are Investigating the incident.
Nairobi police boss Benson Kibue said no arrest has been made so far and efforts to trace the weapon are ongoing. “It seems they knew him well before they attacked but efforts to trace them are ongoing,” said Kibue.

The robbery is a blow to police who are struggling to recover illegal guns after the lapse of a two-week ultimatum that was issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta on April 4.
