An environment conservation organisation in the North Rift, in partnership with four county governments, is set to launch the second phase of an ambitious tree-planting programme.
Kagoech Foundation will launch the second phase of the School Greening Programme in Iten, Elgeyo/Marakwet tomorrow.
The Standard Group has partnered with the foundation by being a pioneer in the rehabilitation of Embobut Forest. The media house will be reforesting 100 acres of the water tower.
The first phase of the eco-schools programme was rolled out in 2011.

“The Kagoech Foundation mobilised 80 schools in Elgeyo/Marakwet County where over 130,000 trees were planted. The first phase was a pilot project for the foundation,” said the Kagoech Foundation CEO Micah Kigen.
