Pastor ‘burns wife over Sh140, goes into hiding’

A pastor has gone into hiding following reports that he had scalded his wife over Sh140.

Police say they are pursuing the God’s Power Church leader after members of his wife’s family reported the matter at Isiolo Police Station.

The pastor’s wife and mother of three is reported to be recuperating at the district hospital after she was allegedly assaulted and scalded with hot water. The couple has been married for 18 years.

The mid-week incident took place allegedly because the woman spent Sh140 she was given by her husband to settle debt at a shop to buy food for her children instead

“The pastor had given Sh140 to my sister to pay debt at a canteen,” said the woman’s brother.

Isiolo OCPD Daniel Kamanza confirmed the incident.
