Meru County: A driver died while two passengers were seriously injured when a lorry they were travelling in was involved in an accident at Gitimbine, near Meru town.
The lorry was transporting electricity poles on the Meru–Githongo road during the 4am accident yesterday.
Meru traffic commander Jackson Sang said the brakes of the lorry might have failed while negotiating a sharp corner before landing on the Repent and Live Christian Centre church.
The police boss said the lorries are not allowed to transport goods at night and the driver could have been saved if it was during the day.
