Kenya: It is now official. The daughter of the late Senator Mutula Kilonzo,Kethi Diana will contest the vacant Makueni County Senate seat in the July 22 by-election.
Kethi confirmed on Saturday that she will run in the July 22 by election to fill the seat that fell vacant following the death of her father in April 27.
“Its true I will be offering myself to the people of Makueni County on Monday”,Kethi told The Standard on telephone.
This brings to end speculations as to whether she will contest or not after keeping supporters from far and wide guessing for a couple of weeks now.

Both the ruling Jubilee alliance and CORD have been playing a hide and seek game in the run up to the by election with each party choosing to tightly guard their preferred candidates.
Kethi who rose to fame during the Supreme Court petition case challenging the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto will now fight it with Jubilee’s Prof Philip Kaloki.
