Ward representatives from eight counties have resolved to support the campaign for a referendum to change the Constitution and address problems facing devolved governments.
Led by Kitui County Assembly Speaker George Ndoto, they resolved to push for the poll during a ward representatives meeting at Bomas of Kenya tomorrow.
Addressing the Press at a Mombasa hotel, Kwale Majority Leader Nasoro Bakari said they had made the decision after realising the Jubilee Government "was out to kill devolution".
"As Coast people we are going for a referendum to push for more funds to be allocated to counties," said Bakari.
Deputy Kwale Assembly Speaker Andrew Mulei noted ward reps had attempted to have fund allocation to counties increased but nothing was forthcoming.
