Members of Nyumba Kumi Initiative in Gatanga have been arrested after they allegedly raided the house of a suspect in a neighbouring county.
The suspect had been accused of breaking into houses and stealing home appliances.
The suspect was released under unclear circumstances as 18 elders were locked up.
Local police said the matter is under investigations.
