Emirates to start flights to Geneva

Emirates plan to launch flights to Switzerland on June 1, with daily flights between Nairobi and Geneva – via Dubai.

Geneva, one of the most important banking and financial cities in the world, will become Emirates’ 111th international destination, and its 26th destination in Europe.

The Airline Regional Manager for East Africa, Essa Ahmad, said Geneva’s position in the world’s system of things makes it a strategic destination for Emirates Airline.

"Geneva is the home to over 300 international governmental and non-governmental organisations, such as the United Nations Office in Geneva, World Trade Organisation, and the World Health Organisation," he noted.

He said the announcement of Geneva as newest European destination underlines the airlines commitment to this important country.

Switzerland has been part of the Emirates network since 1992, when we began flights from Dubai to Zurich.

Ahmad said research has shown there is a high demand for this route from across its network, from both the business sector, particularly financial, and leisure travellers.

"Emirates has an excellent connection times to any 100 plus destinations we fly to so our passengers from Nairobi to Geneva to rest assured of timely connections," he said.
