Senate Deputy Minority Leader who is also Siaya County Senator James Orengo gave his sentiments on the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and National super Alliance leader Raila Odinga at Harambee House, Nairobi on March 9.
Mr. Orengo who was speaking while moving a Motion tabled in parliament on March 14 congratulated the two leaders for taking the country in the right direction.
"I congratulate the two leaders for finding it fit to show leadership in the name of Kenya. They showed wisdom towards resolving problems through a historic meeting and Kenyans are happy as the country is headed in the right direction...
Parliament should never be swallowed by the Executive, whether you are in the ruling party or not. Let us use Parliament to make Kenya great. If Kenyan communities should work together, they should stop fighting each other”, he said.
Being a strong supporter of NASA and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Orengo’s remarks caught the attention of Kenyans. The Senator, who is also a fiery lawyer has in the past been known to fight for NASA against the ruling Jubilee Party.
