Nairobi, Kenya: Former Uchumi finance officer Chadwick Okumu arrested, former CEO Jonathan Ciano being sought by DCI officers over mismanagement of the supermarket.
Former Uchumi finance officer Chadwick Okumu was on Wednesday night arrested while former CEO Jonathan Ciano is being sought by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) officers over mismanagement of the supermarket.
They are supposed to be charged with among others, fraud. Okumu spent his night in police custody while the hunt on Ciano and other top managers is ongoing. Police say they have been investigating the issue and will take action on all those involved in the allegations of fraud.
"We are looking for the other officials involved in this saga and they will take plea soonest possible," said a senior officer at the DCI headquarters.
