Three tourist hotels and ten villas were razed by fire at Mayungu in Malindi.
Hotel workers said the fire started from Kivulini Sea View Resort and spread to La Papaya Resort and Flamingo Hotel at 1pm on Sunday.
Fire fighters from the Malindi Municipal Council used swimming pool water to extinguish the inferno.
Tourists were moved to neighbouring hotels.

Malindi DC Arthur Mugira and OCPD Ali Gitonga were among those who rushed to the scene.
The cause of the fire was not immediately established and no injuries were reported though most tourists lost their belonging in the fire.
