As every other clothing item was going trendy, the extremely modest Islamic attire also joined in and has since acquired a modern look. Islamic dressing style is based on privacy and religion and this is portrayed through loose fitting garments that are carefully designed. This dressing is also in line with Islam and obedience to God who commands modesty for both men and women.

Hijab is the overall term used to describe the attire when one has covered themselves from head to toe. The new designs are attractive but still in a modest manner with bold colours and bright designs in addition to comfortable and fashionable fabrics. They cater for both the traditional Muslim woman and the young yet modern.

From hijabs to scarves and other accessories, everything is in abundance in Islamic clothing including handcrafted attire.

Fabrics are now embellished with sequins and beads in sparkly looks, and there are a lot of floral and geometric patterns especially on the sleeves, necklines and hems.

The colours have shifted from the dark hues of navy, brown and black to tones and shades of blue, lilac, maroon and green among other bold colours.

Modern hijabs are also available in two pieces and those incorporated with an underlining to avoid slipping when worn over the head.

A lot of floral prints and shiny metallic fabrics are also being used now to create the respectful Islamic head coverings. An additional fashionable inner cap that matches the whole outfit or headscarf is also now available to keep the scarf in place and to prevent the hair from peeping through the scarf.a
