Mike Mbuvi Sonko or Mike Sonko as he is commonly known is the immediate former Member of Parliament for Makadara Constituency, Nairobi. The 42-year old, graduated from Kenya Methodist University (KEMU) with Bachelors in Business administration in 2015.
His first stint in parliament was through a by-election in which he floored established political figures such as Reuben Ndolo, a position he was elected to on September 20, 2010. He later became the first senator of Nairobi County after beating his rivals for the seat in 2013.
Mike Sonko is known to be generous to the Kenya’s poor majority sponsoring underprivileged children, youth and women. This has made him popular among Kenya’s electorate.
He is currently seeking to be the next governor of Nairobi county, he will face off with Incumbent ODM Governor Evans Kidero in the August 8 General Election.
