More than 200 community health workers who have been offering voluntary services now have a reason to smile after the County Assembly passed a motion that will see them absorbed as county employees.

The motion, which attracted support from all MCAs, was passed with recommendations that a policy be developed so as to allow proper inclusion of the volunteers into public service.

Leader of Minority Jackson Mogusu, who introduced the motion, said the workers had been forgotten.
