Busia Governor Sospeter Ojamong has dared those seeking to contest for his seat on an ODM ticket to show up as he is set to pay for their party fees.
Speaking on Sunday during an interview on one of the national television networks, Mr Ojamong said he was confident enough as he had fulfilled his mandate to the people during his tenure.
He said those defecting the party were young tucks in politics and could not shake his focus on another term on the party ticket.
"In Busia County, I am ODM and ODM is me and I do not fear party nominations as ahead of the next general elections as I can even sponsor those willing to compete against me for the ticket," said Mr Ojamong.
He said removing him from the party candidature is like removing ODM from the county.
The governor added that among the seven legislators in the county, two MPs were elected on Jubilee coalition and he had not sidelined their regions in development.
"We implement projects together but differ politically on several occasions," he said. Teso North and South are headed by Jubilee MPs.
Responding to claims that he had sidelined road network development in Jubilee led constituencies, Ojamong said at least 350 million had been set aside to tarmac roads in Malaba Busia town and other key roads identified.
He asked leaders to ensure that all political sides are involved in the constitution of a new electoral body saying it has to have a national and political representation so as to have a trustworthy commission. He termed the exit of IEBC commissioners as a major success for the party ahead of the 2017 general elections.
