Mobile communication company-Safaricom has pledged to increase the 3G mobile network from the current 73 percent to 85 percent across the country as it gears towards curb downtime on its network coverage.
The company has opened a state-of-the-art retail experience centre in Narok town County and pledges to put up two more network boosters to reach customers in interior parts of the pastoral County.
The company added the wing in Narok town as it seeks to provide residents of the rapidly growing town with easier improved access to its wide range of products and services.
Speaking during the the unveiling of the new shop at Oltalet Mall,Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore described Narok as a fast-growing emerging enterprising hub and home of the World's fascinating ecosystem.
"The opening of this retail shop is a sign of our commitment to our customers that we care;that we want to ensure that they are always connected, always in control, rewarded for their loyalty and they have easy access to us," said Collymore.
Mr Collymore who was welcomed by Narok Governor Samuel Ole Tunai said the shop stood as a promise to the community to deliver specialized service to the residents of the area.
He said the company has adopted a new regional approach which has seen the company devolve its operations to dedicate resources directly within the counties.
The new approach aims to bring services closer to consumers so as to ensure that investment in technology, products and services are made with the needs of different regions taken into account.
Area Governor Mr Tunai hailed Safaricom's move saying that the county has the most callers and urged the company to put up more network boosters in the interior parts of the county.
He said that the presence of the Shop will ensure that the Nraok residents get first-hand customer services saying that communications contribute heavily to the economy of the county.
"Narok is among the biggest counties in this country but network coverage in some far-end areas such as Enkutoto,Mosiro and we are calling for more boosters in such areas to ensure that communication happen,"said Tunai.
He also called on the company to consider bright students/pupils from poor backgrounds in the county for scholarship and other vital areas such as water provision as part of its CSR programs.
The company delights over 25.1 million subscribers, providing over 200,000 touch points for its customers and offering over 100 different products under its portfolio.
