Nairobi, Kenya: Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has appointed three High Court judges to hear the petition filed by Wambora, challenging a decision by the County Assembly to impeach him. The three are judges Hedwig Ong’udi, Cecilia Githua and Boaz Olao.
The case was filed by Wambora against the County Assembly Speaker who however allowed a debate on his impeachment to go on.
The same bench will also hear a petition filed by his deputy Dorothy Nditi Muchugu, challenging a similar decision to debate her impeachment. The deputy governor has however been cleared by the Senate and is now set to replace Wambora as governor.
