Shock gripped a village in the outskirts of Kisii town after a man bludgeoned to death his four children following a domestic quarrel with his wife.

Residents of Nyambera Village in Kisii County woke up to the grisly sight of four bodies of the children dumped in a farm Sunday morning

The slain children identified as children Misati Brian, 8, Robert Toto , 6, Cynthia Moraa, 5,  and Mogutu  Mami, 3, were allegedly killed by their father after he differed with their mother, Hellen Kemunto.

The wife ran away from the home on Saturday night after an argument with her husband leaving behind the children.

She returned to her matrimonial home on Sunday morning only to be welcomed by the body of her last born daughter the doorstep. She raised alarm attracting the attention of villagers who immediately began the search for other children.

Residents said the husband who vanished after the bizarre incident called one of his neighbours to give direction to where he had dumped the other three bodies. Immediately the police went to scene and removed the bodies that had  cuts around the neck.

The man had placed the bodies in a row with the heads facing down. Visible cuts on the necks of his victims indicated he used a sharp object to slit their throats open after strangling them with bare hands.

The mother, a fruits vendor at the Kisii Municipal market said that the husband has been away for four months and he only resurfaced three days ago threatening her that he would kill her.

“My mother in-law has been the force behind my stay with my husband. She has all along defended his son for all the wrong he does,” she said amid sobs during the interview.

For the 10 years they have stayed together, Kemunto says that she has solely been providing for the family.

“He spends all his money on alcohol despite the fact that our children should be going to school,” she says.

Leading a hunt for the suspect who was still at larger by the time of going to press, Kisii acting OCS Geoffrey Cheruyoit asked members of the public to volunteer information that could lead to man’s arrest.

The remains of the young ones were removed from the scene to nearby Kisii Level Five Hospital Morgue as police commence investigations.

It was not immediately clears as to why the enraged man decided to turn his anger on his children grisly bringing their lives to an end.
