Luana Andrade, a prominent Brazilian influencer, tragically died due to complications during a cosmetic procedure in São Paulo on November 7. The hospital informed local media outlet Globo that she suffered a severe pulmonary embolism during a liposuction surgery.

Approximately two and a half hours into the procedure, Andrade, 29, experienced cardiac arrest, requiring resuscitation by medical staff. Subsequent tests revealed a significant thrombosis, a condition where blood clots obstruct veins or arteries, leading to her transfer to the ICU.

The hospital cited her cause of death as a massive pulmonary embolism, a known risk associated with liposuction procedures, often originating from blood clots forming in the legs and obstructing blood flow to the lungs, as per the Mayo Clinic.

Andrade gained recognition by participating in the 2022 reality show Power Couple Brasil 6 alongside her boyfriend, João Hadad, amassing over half a million followers on Instagram.
