Kenyan singer Nonini

Musician, Nonini has terminated his membership with the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) days after voicing his disappointment at the Collective Management Organisations (CMOs).

Born, Hurbert Mbuku Nakitare, the singer took to Instagram and shared the news with fans saying, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

Nonini posted a letter dated "Tuesday 24th May 2022," which showed the MCSK acknowledging his wish to terminate his membership and was signed by the CEO, Ezekiel Mutua.

Explaining his decision in another post, Nonini said his actions were a way of fighting for change for a "better world and better leadership."

"The human society is the extension of the individual. If we really want a radical change in anything, if we want a better world, better leadership and better structures, we need to change the things that are not working by understanding you have the power individually," said Nonini.

Nonini's termination comes days after the artiste voiced his opinion on copyright awareness following the conversion on social media brought about by the Sauti Sol and Azimio Coalition debate.

In his post on Facebook, Nonini said veteran artistes would have helped shape the current situation in the music industry had they been involved from the start.
