Taking to Instagram, Mutua distanced himself with the lady urging “Wacheni mucene” meaning stop the gossip.

“Disclaimer: I am requested daily by many people to pose for photos. I humbly agree. I take photos with strangers; men, women, groups, kids, families etc. They usually post the photos. This does not mean I know them or that I am in business or friends with them. Wacheni mucene,” Mutua posted.

Previously, the governor had posted a photo of himself on holiday “followed swiftly by serious Government business and then a touch of politics”. “Maisha matamu. Raha na kazi,” he captioned, a photo of him relaxed by what seems a beach resort making the background.

The governor’s social media fans have been curious on his next move since he part ways with Lilian after their union of about nine years.

In August last year, Lilian took to her Instagram account and announced to the world that she had separated with the governor.

“Winds of change blew my way and two months ago, I decided to end my long term relationship with Dr Alfred Mutua. We had a good run and I am forever grateful to God he brought us together. We remain friends,” the post read in part.

And making a swift response, Mutua confirmed the separation that had taken place two months before noting that the two would remain friends despite their marriage hitting the rocks.

“She will be a close advisor as I Govern Machakos County and run for President because I trust her sharp insight and heart. She has always been my number one fan,” Mutua responded.
