The Kenyan Finalist Who Snubbed BBA Show

A Mombasa based professional chef snubbed a call to represent Kenya in the continental Big Brother Africa (BBA) reality TV show which kicked off in South Africa yesterday, MondayBlues can reveal.

Ali Said Mandhry, a career chef and flamboyant socialite who is also an upcoming musician was among the two representatives picked by Endemol South Africa-two weeks ago-to represent Kenya in the reality show only for him to decline the offer on religious grounds.

The production and casting agency was forced to settle for the other contestants who were unveiled last night.

When MondayBlues reached out to Ali through a telephone call, yesterday, the hunk said he could not say much as he had signed a confidential pact with the BBA producers.

“It is true I applied for the BBA show but I can’t say much now as the confidential pact has my lips sealed,” he said.

The BBA show, that has been dramatically titled “The Chase,” kicked off last night with 28 housemates from 14 countries making their debut in the BBA house.

The chase will combine electrifying twists and big surprises that will require housemates to use their charm to get ahead, possibly leaving room for cupid’s arrow to connect two hearts or more.

During the launch, Kenya was represented by comedian Churchil and singer STL.
