Two governors have made good their threat to sue National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale over his defamatory remarks linking them to the Okoa Kenya referendum.
Governors Isaac Ruto (Bomet) and Paul Chepkwony (Kericho) have instituted a legal suit over remarks they alleged Mr Duale made at a political rally in Kericho County, where he accused the two of receiving Sh1 billion from Okoa Kenya crusaders to destabilise Jubilee.
"You are hereby required within 15 days from the date of service hereof to enter an appearance in the said suit. Should you fail to enter an appearance within the time mentioned above, the plaintiffs (governors) may proceed with the suit and judgment may be given in your absence," reads the summons issued by Kericho Law Court to the Garissa Township MP.
Lawyer Peter Wanyama, for the governors, said he was ready to serve Duale.
