Burna Boy beats Diamond, wins BET Best International Act Award.

Nigerian singer and songwriter Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has won the 2021 BET Best International Act Award.

This is the third time in a row that the 29-year-old rapper bagged the award after being crowned the title in 2019 and 2020.

The other nominees for the title included Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Wizkid (Nigeria), Young T & Bugsey (UK), Aya Nakamura (France), Emicida (Brazil), Headie One (UK), and Youssoupha (France).

In March this year, the On the Low hitmaker bagged his first Grammy Award after winning the Best Global Music Album for Twice As Tall at the Premiere Ceremony of the 63rd Grammy Awards.

Hours after Burna Boy won the award, East Africa’s Diamond Platnumz took to his Instagram and thanked his fellow Tanzanians for their immense support.

The singer said he was grateful that Tanzania was mentioned as one of the countries with good musicians following his nomination.
