Two barmaids were charged with drugging a man and stealing his valuables worth Sh250,000.
Veronica Wambui Njoki, 28, and Mary Ngina, 29, are alleged to have drugged James Mithamo Njeru at a bar in Nairobi’s Komarock estate.
Police said Njeru shared drinks with the two women in the bar, before proceeding to his house with them. The two allegedly spiked his drink in the house where he lost consciousness.
The accused are alleged to have made away with the valuables, before locking the door from outside.
They, however, denied the charges and were released on Sh100, 000 bond each. The matter will be mentioned on March 27.
