I am turning 33 next month and though I have a well-paying job and a car, I am still single.

At that age and claiming to be better off in life, you should surprise your old parents with a beautiful sister in-law and some bouncing wajukuu unless you wish to be a catholic priest.
I don't understand what scares you, but every married man did not have it that easy settling down with a stranger he admired in some Sunday best.
