The world has celebrated waving goodbye to 2018 and ringing in the New Year with some stunning firework displays and incredible parties.

The South Pacific island of Samoa kicked off the celebrations when they entered the New Year at 10am yesterday, UK time.
Some 14 hours later Big Ben chimed at midnight in London - followed by a firework display on the bank of the Thames.
