Saumu Mbuvi, the first daughter to Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, took to social media to celebrate the 10th death anniversary of her late mother, Njeri Wangui.
In the post, the Governor’s daughter disclosed that it was not easy for her to lose her mother when she needed her the most.
"I still can’t believe today marks 10years since you left us. I know It will never get easier losing you to death when I still needed you so much.’’ She shared.
Saumu,a mother of one, went on to promise her late mother that she will live a life that would have made her proud.
‘’But in your honour I will live a life that would have made you proud of me if you were still here. I love you and miss you mum. #sleepwellmama’’ she said.
Njeri Wangui was Governor Sonko’s high school sweetheart and while in form Four, according to Sonko’s Facebook post, Njeri and he welcomed Saumu Mbuvi.
The vocal and flashy Governor one time admitted to being polygamous and revealed that he has two wives.
The most notable one is Primrose, the mother of his third daughter, Sandra.
The other daughter, Salma, is from his relationship with another woman who passed on in December 2015; while his son Osinya is adopted.
Primrose, like most politicians’ spouses, keeps a low profile and only makes public appearances in high-octane events like during the launch of his manifesto on July 23, just before the August 8 elections.
