Kenyans have today taken to social media to react to the announcement that National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga is to make a switch from Safaricom to Airtel today at 4pm.

Social media was abuzz as they reacted to the news that Odinga was ‘ditching’ Safaricom’ in tandem with the boycott by the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

The communique from NASA CEO Norman Magaya was met with praise from some users who stated that it was about time that NRM actions picked up speed.

Others however argued that Odinga’s move was inconsequential and that the boycott was playing to the political gallery.

NRM had last week urged its supports to boycott Safaricom, Bidco and Brookside accusing them of aiding the subversion of the will of the people.

Early today, the Safaricom Dealers Association came out to reject the call by NRM saying that the call to boycott was affecting their businesses.
