Fidel's social life was vibrant. He was the life of the party whenever he stepped out and thanks to his interaction with showbiz bigwigs, had prospects to invest in Kenya's showbiz industry. As the first born son of Hon. Raila Odinga, Fidel was a family man who in the course of his life married an Eritrean beauty Lwam Gatachew Bekele in a lavish-invite only wedding back in August 2012.
Together they gifted their parents the blessing of a grandson Allay Odinga who turns two in August this year. He was quite generous with his wealth and often helped those who sought monetary assistance from him.
Quite the sports fanatic, Fidel was also chairman of Kisumu Rugby Football Club, and actively took part in last year's Safaricom Dala Sevens held at Kisumu's Mamboleo Showground during which he and the fans evicted motorists who had ignorantly driven onto the rugby pitch. Fidel Odinga's final service will be held tomorrow at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology grounds, after which he shall be laid to rest at the same place Hon. Raila Odinga laid his own father two decades ago, the Jaramogi family graveyard at Kang'o Ka-Jaramogi.
