When President Uhuru Kenyatta nominated Dr Hassan Wario Arero to be Kenya’s first Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and the Arts, Kaltum Dima Guyo wrote an objection letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Justin Muturi.

In a letter dated May 2, 2013, Guyo cited three issues as grounds for disqualification of Wario for the position of a Cabinet Secretary.

Guyo’s letter to Muturi is among the documents attached as evidence in a case where she seeks Sh400,000 monthly upkeep from Wario.

The former wife to Wario claimed in the letter that Wario fled the United Kingdom (UK) to Kenya to skip court summons after he refused to honour an outstanding court order.

Guyo further presented to the court documents to support claims that in January 2007, Dr Wario fraudulently tried to obtain a Sh600,000 loan from a financial institution in the UK.

“I only realised when documents were dropped o at the house. I wrote back to the said financial institution to stop the loan application as Dr Wario was trying to use the house at 89 Mount Pleasant Road, Dartford, DA1 1TD Kent as collateral behind my back. I find this act to be not just fraudulent, but dishonest.

Dr Wario was not living in the house at the time but chose to lie to the said financial institution in order to obtain a loan on the property…” the letter reads in part.
