A city woman is nursing serious injuries after her dad’s ‘mpango wa kando’ burnt her buttocks.

It is alleged that Jane Karanja, 23, had gone to pick her sister at Jane Wambui’s house in Eastleigh Section 3.

The two, who don’t see eye to eye, according to neighbours, engaged in a heated argument after Wambui refused to let go of the child.

It is alleged an angry Wambui picked a kitchen knife and tried to stab Jane, who escaped.

Sensing she had lost the fight, Wambui picked a burning stove and threw it at Jane’s bum ‘setting it on fire’.

The neighbours called police who rushed to the scene and arrested Wambui.

Wambui who appeared before a city court claimed her ‘step daughter’ attempted to steal her child and she was only trying to defend herself.

“My step daughter attempted to steal my child. I am not the biological mother, but I am now her dad’s new wife.  I have slept with her father hence we share the same blood,” she said.

She was released on a Sh20,000 cash bail and her trial begins on November 10.
