Tuju's wife Stella Ayuma

The estranged wife of former minister Raphael Tuju is facing another possible arrest after a female cleaner accused her of assault.

Forty-year-old Stella Ayuma has reported at the Capitol Hill Police station that Ruth Akinyi attacked her with a stone at the family’s Lacoline Gardens in Upper Hill.

Ayuma told the police she had just walked into the home to start her normal cleaning work at 7am when an enraged Akinyi confronted her and demanded that she leaves. “We had a case with her last year and I reported at the same police station. She had threatened me by then and I have no idea whether police took action,” said Stella.

In August, Akinyi was taken in for questioning at the Capitol Hill station for allegedly assaulting a night guard. The case is pending in court. On her last appearance in court in September, she denied that she had assaulted Felix Omondi on August 23 at the Lacoline Gardens. Akinyi is separated from Tuju and they have a divorce case going on at the High Court.
