Pulse: What is your style?

Shaa: Eclectic, just like my music. I dress depending on my mood.

P: ...and what inspires the style?

S: Everything and everyone around me; the music I listen to, my friends, my favourite actresses, singers and stylists

P: Do you consider yourself fashion conscious?

S: No. I am stylish, as Coco Chanel said, 'Fashion changes, but style endures.'

P: What is the weirdest fashion trend you have ever rocked?

S: Those really high Spice Girls' platform shoes in my early teens. Surprisingly, they are coming back.

P: Who is the best dressed person you have ever met?

S: Christabella Octavia Kaisi, my late mother. A typical African mother, her style was chic, classy and comfortable and she always dressed her shape and size, something that many ladies seem to fall short on.

P: What is 'fashion'?

S: Your lifestyle choices; how you dress, how you talk, what you read, how you think, how you walk...

P: If you were to raid anyone's closet, which celebrity would most likely fall victim?

S: The Kardashians. Very sexy, chic, fun with a touch of elegance.

P: What is the most expensive fashion piece in your closet?

S: A nude pointed stiletto and a black-and-gold heel by designer Kurt Geiger

P: The V.I.P (Very Important Piece) in your closet..?

S: My gold Ray-Ban aviator classic sunglasses. I am always rocking them, whether it is sunny or not.

P: What kind of guys do you admire?

S: Those who take fashion risks but understand their bodies, like guys who can rock 'feminine colours'.

P: The ultimate 'chill out' look..?

S: A Dira, nothing beats the cosiness of a Dira.

P: Fashion motto...

S: Vivienne Westwood said it best, 'Buy less, Choose well.'

P: Where do you mostly shop from?

S: The local boutiques in Dar, at least twice a week.

P: Who dresses you to events?

S: Myself. I am a very hands-on kind of person, and find it fun to dress and style myself.

P: An ideal date should come dressed...

S: As I am in a relationship, my date always dresses as he wants to and usually involves a T-shirt, casual jeans and some Converse All Star shoes.
