Interior CS Fred Matiang’i says the government will set up a police station at Kilingili, Emuhaya, at a cost of Sh10 million.
Two months ago, six security guards were killed at Kilingili, just 50 metres from a police post that had more than 10 police officers.
“Sh10 million has been set aside to revamp Kilingili Police Station. A police base will also be set at Wanaswa in Ikolomani Constituency with immediate effect,” Dr Matiang’i said.
Speaking when he toured the scene where the six guards were killed in cold blood in Kilingili, CS Matiang’i said residents should sleep in peace, not worrying about their insecurity.
“We have enjoyed peace for many years, and those who want to destabilise the area should be dealt with,” Vihiga Woman Representative Beatrice Adagala said.
