Three suspects were arrested after they kidnapped a man who
had gone missing for 14 days in Meru County.
A missing report of the victim had been made at Kangeta
Police Station in Meru County on 19th June 2020.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
working with the police mounted an intelligence-led operation within Kiutune in
Igembe Central Sub-County.
After interrogation, the three suspects, Patrick Kimathi,
Joseph Karithi, Daniel Muroki, led the officers to a thicket where they held
the victim.
“Upon interrogation, the suspects, all aged below 30 years
and who were demanding ransom of Ksh 150,000 from the family of the victim, led
the officers to a nearby thicket where the victim was rescued after 14 days of
abduction,” said the DCI.

During the operation, officers recovered several items that
were kept as exhibits.
The victim was taken to the hospital for a medical checkup
while the suspects were taken lawful custody.
