Two suspects jumped out of the vehicle and took off on foot
but the suspected mastermind, Aaron Kibet Chepkwony, arrested.
Investigations revealed that the vehicle had been stolen
from a Matunda-based police officer, while parked at a parking lot, after which
fake number plates were fixed.
DCI added that the gang specializes in using fake
registration plates before selling the vehicles and urged those whose cars have
been stolen recently to report to their offices in Kitale with proof of
ownership.
