A watchman in Huruma area, Nairobi is on the run after stabbing another man to death following an argument.

A police statement shows that Melvin Lugonzo was stabbed on the chest after he accidently stepped on the watchman’s chicken.

“The deceased stepped on the chicken and then that’s when the watchman engaged him in a chase before catching up to him and stabbing him,” read the report.

Police say the watchman also stabbed a woman who tried to intervene and is currently admitted in the hospital.

“The watchman then chased him and stabbed him on the chest. He also stabbed another lady who tried to intervene before taking off,” said the police.

Residents tried to catch up with the watchman after the incident but he managed to escape.

Police officers from Huruma police station moved Melvin’s body and took it to the city mortuary.
