Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Thursday hurled insults at Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua during a visit to his county.
Sonko stormed Machakos Central Police Station following the closure of a hotel owned by former legislator Kalembe Ndile, whose workers were also arrested.
The governor referred to Mutua as a retard who has done very little for his people, accusing him of being a conman.
"I believe bringing leadership to the grassroots will enable jobless youth to be dependent and be able to provide for their families.

“If Konza city would have been built, many Machakos youth would have been employed. We would have had an airstrip, supermarkets, and industries. But you chose a conman," he stated referring to Mutua.
He also hit out at Mutua for locking up the traders saying it is against the law and faulted the county’s health department for ordering the closure of the hotel.
“I have learnt that they don’t have a serious charge. They’re now saying the hotel management did not spray a mosquito repellant,” he said.
Sonko also challenged local wananchi to vie for leadership roles saying he would fund anyone who shows interest.
His visit comes just days after Mutua lashed at Nairobi’s leadership for neglecting statues in the Central Business District.
The Machakos governor stated that he would personally repair the statues if those responsible do not wake up.
