Former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kennedy Kamto has been shot dead by unknown gunmen at his residence in Nyali, Mombasa County.
The County Commissioner Evans Achoki confirmed the incidence and said no arrest has been made so far.
According to the police, the ex-governor was waylaid by three gunmen who shot and killed him as he entered his home.
The gangsters who had covered their faces are said to have demanded money from the former deputy governor before they gunned him down.
Police have launched a probe to ascertain the motive of his murder and a manhunt for the gunmen who are still at large.
